WHAT TO EXPECT
JOURNEY INWARD,
IN COMMUNITY
We offer group psilocybin and sound healing ceremonies at InnerTrek Services on Portland’s inner east side.
Through both recorded music and a suite of live instruments–including singing bowls, chimes, drums, gong, flute, and more–we create a safe, welcoming space for inner and outer attunement.
Sound consists of vibrations that affect us on a cellular level, impacting brain, nerve, muscle, and organ function. Sound healing aims to channel the power of these vibrations, easing mind and body into a balanced, receptive state in which the psyche can work optimally with the medicine. Intentional use of music can also augment or intensify the medicine experience on both somatic and emotional levels.
With two preparation sessions and two integration sessions surrounding a day-long journey, you will be held by caring, skilled facilitators prepared to mindfully tend to you and your experience every step of the way.

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound produced by hallucinogenic or “magic” mushrooms. It is now legally available in service centers throughout Oregon.
After decades of banned research from the “War on Drugs”, there are now numerous studies exploring psilocybin for depression, end-of-life anxiety, addiction, OCD and more. Beyond these burgeoning applications, psilocybin produces expansive states of consciousness and perception that aid in emotional healing, personal growth, and spiritual exploration.
-
Psilocybin is legally available in approved service centers throughout Oregon and Colorado. To date, these are the only states in which psilocybin has been legalized.

While it is the same compound, the experience is quite different. The preparation, intention setting, guidance, and group container create a deliberate, sacred space for healing and expansion. This creates a unique physical, as well as emotional and spiritual, experience.
-
With careful preparation, most experiences are quite pleasant.
However, difficult or unpleasant themes or content may arise as your mind works its own healing process. Themes such as trauma, abuse, abandonment, shame, and grief are often felt through a lens of compassion and acceptance instead of fear or anger. This can help transform your relationship to past events and allow for meaningful healing.
Both blissful and challenging experiences can facilitate transformation, offer insights into your mental health, and serve as valuable tools for ongoing therapy and integration.

We find that the pace and space naturally flows in group sessions. Individuals move in and out of desiring connection or support in their own time. If you feel you might benefit from more one-on-one support, skilled facilitators are available through Innertrek.

Typical group size is 4-8 people with a maximum of 10 people. We make agreements as a group that include boundaries around engaging with, touching, or “helping” others while in the medicine. We encourage everyone to emote and move their bodies as needed, but if at any point it becomes distracting for the group, an individual may be gently guided to a separate space until they are ready to rejoin the group

“You go deep enough or far out enough in consciousness and you will bump into the sacred. It’s not something we generate; it’s something out there waiting to be discovered. And this reliably happens to nonbelievers as well as believers.”
